9.11

The new design on the World Trade Center is pretty dramatic, lots of things are being changed, new things are being added, and even more is being a safer place. There are 104 floors and 71 elevators in the new and improved design for the World Trade Center.

Five are high speed express cars moving at 2,000 feet per minutes, or at the most 23 miles per hour. It also takes 45 seconds to reach the top of the World Trade Center. In an eleveator 23 miles per hour is pretty dang fast. With 104 floors and at a rate of 45 seconds to get there it must be fast and obviously a stomach turner.

If I had to guess or make a prediction on why they are building these fast and many elevators, it would be, because in case another freak accident happens again, they would want to get down as quick as possible. When I think of 9.11 I automatically think of the dust, people screaming, and people trying to figure out how to get down and out of the building. With these new elevators this will help the percentage of people get down in case of a accident. As you can see, this new structure is going to pervent more people from being hurt, and having the risk of being trapped in case something happens.
